Avoid Reheating These Food!

The habit of storing food and then reheating it at the time of consumption is often done by many people. Shockingly, these foods are often items we prepare and consume every single day. The habit of heating food repeatedly can reduce the levels of nutrients content.

For example, one of the important nutrients that will be wasted is vitamin C, which can even reduce the levels of vitamin 50-80 percent. As it is known that vitamin C has a very important role in body health. Here’s a list of foods you must never reheat.

Rice is the most common leftover item in our kitchen and also the most commonly reheated food. However, it’s best to avoid reheating it in a microwave. Heat kills these bacteria, but it can produce spores that are toxic in nature.

Once the rice is reheated and is left out at room temperature, any spores it contains can multiply, further causing food poisoning on consumption.

Chicken is a rich source of protein, however, reheating causes a change in the composition of protein. This protein-rich food when reheated can give you digestive troubles. That’s because the protein-rich foods get denatured or broken down when cooked. However, if they are constantly heated this property of breaking down can instead make chicken difficult to digest.

Eggs are a rich source of protein, however, cooked egg or boiled egg can cause serious harm when exposed to heat again and again. Once you have cooked eggs, eat them immediately but if it is kept for a longer period, don’t reheat, rather just eat cold because high protein food contains a lot of nitrogen. This nitrogen may get oxidized due to reheating, further causing cancer.

Even if you leave the cooked potatoes out at room temperature, the production of bacteria will only increase. So if you want to avoid the growth of bacteria, best is to keep them refrigerated or throw them away if not being consumed within 1-2 days.

It is recommended to eat mushrooms as soon they are prepared. Ideally, they shouldn’t be stored to consume the next day as it is a powerhouse of proteins and have generous amounts of minerals and by reheating them, you are breaking these proteins further, causing havoc in your digestive system.

Hence heating them will generate toxins that contain oxidized nitrogen and free radicals. Even if you are keen on storing mushrooms for the next day, make sure you eat them cold.
